Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company Italian Restaurant ·$$

The Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company is a cozy cottage that has high ceilings, pine panels and booths; everything screams rustic, old-school Chicago. The dining area is always filled with couples or groups in search of restaurant's show stopper, the signature Pizza Pot Pie. This decadent masterpiece is made with a light and fluffy Sicilian bread dough which covers a bowl filled with homemade sauce, tomatoes, cheeses, sausages, mushrooms, etc. The bowl is removed at the end when it's served at your table, the result: a gooey, rich, heavy pizza pot pie. For dessert, try the Tortoni, it's a rich Italian frozen dessert flavored with rum, macaroons and almonds. If you loved the food, don't forget to take a couple of frozen pot pies on your way out.

Cool spot tucked downstairs with a moody, private vibe that made for a cute date night. The food is super simple, but the pot pie pizza is such a fun and unique twist. It's still pretty basic with...

This is one of those places that feels frozen in time -- in a good way. The wood‑paneled coziness, the dim lighting, the slightly chaotic entryway where a host with a clipboard controls the fate...

What a great experience we had! Got there at 4:10 and there was a line so probably need to get there before it opens. The pizza pot pie is filling. The Mediterranean bread is a must. Thin and...

Very good deep dish pizza if you want to try one in Chicago. It's on the pricier side with a 1/2 pounder being $18 or so. I was satisfied with 1/2 pounder and shared this with friend. Ordered chef...
