Wanda opened Café Colao in 2002 as a tribute to her grandmother who always had the aroma of fresh coffee filling her home. It was those fond childhood memories that made us want to create a space for other people to feel just as cozy. With an island feel guiding everything we do, you'll find handmade Puerto Rican pastries, freshly baked bread, delicious sandwiches, and coffee that are sure to be unlike anything you've tried elsewhere in Chicago. Next time you're in the neighborhood, we welcome you to join us for a treat and some good conversation!
