Ewing Manor is in a word, AWESOME! The manor house, the grounds, the fact that people are encouraged to picnic on the grounds...that's Midwestern friendliness, folks! The Illinois Shakespeare Festival and other plays performed in the outdoor theater are fantastic. Don't miss it!

We visited here for a business/social; meeting. Guides were in attendance to provide tours of the house. Much more interesting than I imagined. The manor is furnished with much of the original furnishings, original plumbing that still works and interesting architecture. The guides were knowledgeable about the family, house and grounds. The guides are positioned in each room and you progress at your own speed.It is worth the time. I suggest a spring/summer/fall tour so you can see the grounds better.

I went here for the first time this past weekend to attend a retreat. I am from the East Coast and am a dedicated lover of all old buildings. The Ewing Cultural Manor is an old mansion that has been preserved and it now used for events, weddings, that sort of thing. Elegant, solid, lovely and timeless are words that come to mind. You can just imagine the family that once lived here, kids running through the rooms, playing outside. The wooden floors give a friendly creak here and there to let you know they're happy to see you.

Delightful setting in an old mansion with lovely gardens surrounding the house. Perfect location for 50th H.S. reunion event.

We went to Ewing Manor to see one of the Shakespere Theater performances. Although the performance was ok, it didn't hold the attention of the kids at all and was rather long (and this was a kids play). The ground are beautiful though and you can walk around and bring a picnic with as well.
