I haven't been to Northwoods mall for quite some time - for several years probably. The mall opened quite a while ago - in 1973 - and since then it went through all types of commercial success and downfalls. Nowadays, the mall has about 90 stores and services, several restaurants, that are currently open mainly for take out orders. There are several novelties at the mall -- indoor play areas for kids (The Yard), Round One Entertainment (a bowling place, instead of the closed Macy's), The RoomPlace store, some new game shops. Once thriving Sears is closed now, and JCP is now the only large, anchor store left on the upper floor. There are also some new boutiques, many shop windows now display also plus size clothing - the sign of the times, of sorts. The Trend Jump place is currently closed. During Christmas time the mall was fairly busy, all shops seemed to be observing the latest sanitation and social distancing regulations, usually displayed at the entrances. In 2018, Peoria Police substation opened at the mall. The mall is hopefully still popular not only with the local public, but with guests from other towns and cities of the state, as well. Downstairs, on the ground floor of the mall, there's an interesting, bright-colored exhibit - the Rainbow Glitter Unicorn - done by a local artist as a collaboration project with younger participants. Parking - over 3000 spaces - is ample both in the front and at the back part of the mall. My visit to Northwoods Mall was quite enjoyable.

So sad to see a once thriving place of business sink to nothingness. Parking lot is almost empty-no department stores except JCP & Sears & lots of neglect. Seems to be a higher than average youth population just hanging out. I will not go again, just doesn't feel safe either inside or in the parking lot and I can buy on-line or out at Grande Prairie and get a better selection of items.

Few nice stores, limited food service that is of mediocre quality. Restrooms aren't just dirty from a busy day but has a long term buildup of filth. There appears to be a good amount of loitering youth just hanging out Appears unsafe..

The Northwoods Mall is decent place for shopping. Sometimes, unsupervised teens hang out there, which caused some people to question the mall. Still, I would prefer to see teens hanging out in a mall rather than gang banging, selling drugs, and in the streets up to no good. I have lived in Miami, Florida, so I am aware of very nice shopping locations, but I have shopped at the Northwoods Mall many times and had very pleasant experiences. Every year, my church and my sorority ring the Salvation Army bells so we have interacted with kind people of all ages there. The Smo-King Pit Restaurant has delicious food and friendly service every time. I will continue to shop, eat, sit, and drink Gloria Jean coffee in Northwoods Mall.
