The Wayside Motel needs alot of work. Very rundown. Old, uncared for, overpriced, doors don't shut well, smell of smoke lingers, no phones, bathrooms are small and cramped. They do allow pets. If you are traveling with your pets then it's ok to stay here one night until you find a better accommodation. There aren't any restaurants on the property but there are places to eat within walking distance and the owners are pleasant. It feels like you are in the boonies or in the middle of nowhere but close by are some restaurants and nice neighborhoods. St. Louis is really a beautiful city worth visiting and exploring by car.

The floor was really dirty and the walls didn't look much better.Wont be going. Back if they can't mop the floor. I been going there once a week for months .Had to clean my feet before putting on my socks .Took shower before I got there .So my feet were clean before walking on there floor

Very nice management and staff. Room appeared clean but super old. Instead of actually remodeling they just removed things that were outdated from the bathroom. Shower only and was old tile. Loud wall unit AC. Glad our Route 66 experience is over.

This is a great little, old fashioned motel complex. Not fancy and not a lot of outlets in the room, but very clean and well maintained and in a quiet location convenient to much of St. Louis. This is where we always stay when we visit friends in St. Louis. Highly recommend.

Rooms are nice the parking is great. They actually offer covered parking. The price was very reasonable and the staff is very helpful and attentive. They don't have Wi-Fi but do offer basic cable. Price is $12 cheaper than the one up the street that is absolutely nasty.
