The Academy of Fighting Arts is a Christian Martial Arts school. We primarily teach traditional Korean martial arts, Self Defense, and Cardio Kickboxing classes. Our traditional program focuses on technique, forms, sparring, and street-applicable self-defense. We believe total body fitness is important, and we emphasize cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and strength training. Our classes are broken up by age. Our program is not a "McDojang", where a student moves through the ranks like a drive-through. Our belt requirements are skill-based, not time-based like other schools. Students going through our traditional program will not test for a black belt in 1 1/2 to 2 years - there are no 5 year old black belts here! We believe Tae Kwon Do can be beneficial to everyone, regardless of age, or ability. We have a history of physicians recommending our program for ADD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism. We have also had some experience teaching students that were blind and deaf.
