It is no wonder that Conde Nast Magazine voted this one of the top 500 hotels in the world. Located near the Country Club Plaza along Brush Creek, this nine-story hotel permeates elegance. Built in 1927 as an apartment building, this splendid structure was transformed into a hotel in 1975. Today, guests can enjoy spacious rooms and fine dining during their stay. Two prints by the artist Raphael are proudly displayed in the lobby, offering travelers a touch of the art and flair of Old Europe.

Absolutely wonderful classic hotel in Kansas City. Stayed for a week while planning our move to KC and could not ask for more. Fabulous location, lovely rooms, and the outstanding Chaz restaurant. Every staff member is friendly and polite and the service is 10+. Now that we live in the area we look forward to spending weekends at the Raphael as we attend events in downtown KC. Thank you Raphael Hotel!

Favorite hotel in KC. Historic feel but modernized where it counts. Sophisticated is how I would describe it - like my grandmas XJ8 Jaguar. Chaz has fantastic food and the music is fitting. People that work here make the difference. Great service but they enjoy their job. Say here is you can make it happen!

It is a lovely old hotel that will give you a taste of the last century. Some rooms have an obstructed view of the Plaza if you are going for the view make it clear when you reserve. Some rooms do not have a work station, so if you are staying for business you may not have an ergonomic place to work. Elevators are the biggest problem, they only have three and they are extremely small—- like only four adults at a time. If you have luggage less than that. With that being said if you are on your way out for business be prepared to wait for an elevator as it can take several passes to get an empty one. The stairs are always an effective option. The valet is prompt! :) I did notice more noise than usual (small children) and it could be the walls are thinner. However taking all of this into consideration it is a lovely hotel, it is an experience, and it is great to be so close to the Plaza, did notice a few more people than usual harassing the shoppers for cigarettes or money but did not have anyone bothering me in proximity to the hotel, don’t know if they have strict security or what, if you do thank you!

We love wonderful boutique hotel experiences, and this one was wonderful! What a great team, from the doormen, housekeepers and restaurant. We want o especially thank Amy and India at the front desk for making us feel so welcomed. Always with a smile and a greeting. Sorry to not have all members of this excellent team, but we salute you all. The room was beautifully decorated with a yesteryear charm. Walking into the lobby, you immediately understand this is not a cookie cutter hotel. The restaurant was excellent with steaks, jazz trio and easy order breakfast in bed. We look forward to our next visit to this enchanting property.

The bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, it was in a good location for shopping, and the staff were super nice. That said, I was expecting this hotel to be historic and full of old world charm. Instead, I found it be old and tired. It got the job done, but a luxury hotel it's not.
