Nicely done and maintained mini botanical garden

We stopped at this park to stretch our legs. It had a lot of nice walking paths and a large variety of flowers. It was peaceful but you could still hear traffic noise in several different areas. Unfortunately, several of the fountains/running water features were not working. The old school house was neat. It appeared that it hadn't been cleaned inside in quite awhile, though. Overall, it was a nice place to stop for a short walk. I would have liked to have seen what it is like when all of the water features were working, though.

As a local Shelter Gardens is one of my favorite places in Columbia. Considering it is in the middle of town it is always peaceful and quiet. It is a great place when you want to go for a walk but don't want to hike a trail. There is a lot shade throughout the gardens and the grounds staff is really great with the upkeep of the garden. Depending on how often you go there will almost always be new flowers to look at. The old schoolhouse on the grounds is also a cool experience.

Lovely, peaceful garden! Could use a public restroom??? Older visitors have unexpected, frequent nature calls.

A nice and quiet garden to relax, read a book, take a light walk or for a picnic. Is very well maintained. I am sure you will enjoy it.
