Founded in 1958, Russell Boulevard Elementary School serves more than 500 students in kindergarten through grade five. It also operates a preschool program and offers special education sessions in speech pathology and deaf education. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school also provides several extracurricular programs in art, music, keyboarding and physical education. In addition, it provides guidance and counseling services and offers the English Language Learners program. Located in Columbia, Mo., Russell Boulevard Elementary School operates a parent-teacher association that conducts various fundraising events and activities. It is a part of Columbia Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
