I had Goldmakers (GM) fabricate a custom engagement ring. The process was long and arduous (We started the process on 2-27-21 and did not complete it until 6-5-21). At one point, there was a physical gap in between the metal. An employee commented they usually send those intricate products out for a precision fabrication. They never agreed to send it out even after the numerous stalls in house. I purchased a .90ct Emerald cut diamond from GM to be set in the ring. As it turns out, the diamond was almost double retail price. You would expect that most of the cost to be in the labor on this type of project. The ring was worn for about a year when our relationship ended. In order to try to recoup something I wanted to return or exchange, the loose emerald cut diamond only. So, the ring was taken to GM to remove the .90ct. I went back in to GM to discuss options on the EC diamond. I was told if the diamond was still set they might have been able to do something. But a comment was made by the owner that the ring had been ripped apart (even though it was their jeweler). They were unwilling to even reach out to the diamond dealer. A pre-sale selling point was made that in the very least diamonds hold their value if not become more valuable. So, that is further proof that they knew the diamond was overpriced to begin with. It was suggested it be put on eBay. When you’ve already paid double the retail price, the last thing you want is for eBay to get 15%. All I wanted was a fair and equitable solution for everyone.

After walking past the windows of this cute little shop several times, my daughter and I decided to pop in and see what they had inside—I'm a sucker for sparklies! They had so many beautiful and unique designs! Since we were basically just window shopping, it was so hard to decide to splurge on something at the spur of the moment, even though their prices were quite reasonable. I have so many things on my wish list now, especially a few of the pieces with stones in cabochon settings— they were beautiful. The craftsmanship is excellent. Definitely way above the average jewelry shop. Can't wait to return!
