We were on the hunt for matching end tables and there were none to be found HOWEVER, this place is full of items I had never encountered in other antique shops. Some amazing hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces from stately places that obviously cost a lot of money when they were commissioned. I wish I had room for many of the items I saw at Petersons.

This shop is a family owned store that has two floors of accumulation, repaired and restored pieces. Walking through the doors of Petersons is like stepping back in time, every item I saw or touched is in pristine condition. No flea market painted items here. They know the beauty of wood grain and preservation seems to be their #1 priority. I personally could have spent several hours just browsing the treasures on both levels. From antique figurines and clocks of every kind to dining and bedroom sets and tables for every room in the house were on display. Wilma and Julie were very gracious hosts and Julie described in detail the type of wood and description of several pieces that I admired as we leisurely walked among the treasures of days gone by. They also restore items for individuals who have an heirloom piece they want to protect or refinish. The location is off the main drag of Metcalf Ave but it is easy to find in the old downtown Overland Park.
