tripadvisorReserved the rooms 2 weeks prior for our large party to ensure they had time to get them ready. Got there and half of our rooms including mine weren’t ready. Waited an hour, asked the front desk lady for an update, and she rudely told me that there was a shift change and she didn’t know I was still waiting on my room. Waited another hour and FINALLY got my room after asking the front desk AGAIN if it was done yet. Guess it was done and they didn’t bother letting me know.Couldn’t find any working water fountains. So if you needed water, you had to go all the way to the first floor to use their water jug. Also, apparently trash isn’t taken out as part of housekeeping, you have to leave it outside your door, which would’ve been nice to know.Hotel itself was fine. Little dated but no big deal. Food was decent for a hotel, room was clean, wi-fi worked, the other staff were friendly and understanding.I shared a room, and split the cost down the middle with another person. It seemed ok until we checked our bank statements. Turned out they charged me the whole thing. Called them to explain the situation and thought I got it resolved. Nope, they just charged the entire thing to the OTHER person. Finally said screw it and just paid him the difference. Caused a massive headache and lots of phone calls though. Overall, wouldn’t recommend.
Morelocation is ideal. Atmosphere is good. Rooms are clean . Value is merely okay. Noise level was perfect. Service was very good. Amenities is N/A.
MoreThis place was good but not great. Reminded me of an old Embassy Suites hotel. Check-in was not the most professional…the employees seemed a bit scattered. Nothing good that looks safe within walking distance if that matters. Searching for their “sun deck” and finally found a blank slab of concrete with no chairs near the pool area. Certainly didn’t meet the normal definition of a sun deck. Wasn’t awful but not sure I would stay there again if returning to Topeka. On another note…it seems to be the perfect place to stay if you have tickets to something at the event center across the parking lot. In that case, I’d definitely give it a big thumbs up for location.
MoreWe recently stayed at Hotel Topeka for the first time. What a beautiful and classy hotel! Plus the room was the roomiest we've ever had! Super clean. Comfy bed. We had a delicious breakfast the next morning and every staff member we encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful.
MoreRoom extremely outdated. The room that they gave me had not been cleaned and the bed had been used. Dirty towels on the bathroom floor. After complaining was assigned another room that smelled terrible. Tub had rust all over and was stained.
