We had a fast overnight visit to Washington DC and decided to stay in a boutique hotel rather than a Marriott or Hilton. We are so glad we did! The Henley Park Hotel was amazing! The staff is great, super friendly and very helpful. We were given an upgrade at check-in, didn’t ask for it, they offered it. We stayed in a King suite and the room was beautiful, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. They provided six pillows and an extra one with a blanket in the closet. Bath robes also provided and all the bath toiletries as well. The only small thing I didn’t care for is the toilet sits very low; so for tall people, it’s a ways down there. We sat at the bar twice for cocktails but did not use the restaurant so not sure how good the food is there. The hotel is centrally located in a safe and convenient area of downtown DC. We had many restaurants to choose from and we enjoyed a story-telling presentation at the Washington Guild Theater, located 190ft from the hotel. It was a wonderful overnight day. We will definitely do it again.

I enjoyed my time here. I had a really nice 3-night stay as a solo female traveler in 08/26. Very clean! Perfect comfy bed, quiet room. Great water pressure; polite front desk staff especially Oscar at night. This hotel is old, charming, and quirky, which I loved. If you want modern and fancy, this isn’t your place. Don’t miss Rosa’s, the new diner around the corner 2 minutes away. I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Only caution: toilets are lower than usual - just FYI if you have hip or mobility issues. Not a big deal. I would stay here again.

Great Hotel, Unfortunately Disappointing Customer ServiceI want to start by saying that I genuinely liked this hotel. The property is great, the beds are comfortable, and the location is excellent—tucked away from the madness but still close to everything. The bellmen were also fantastic and provided great service.Unfortunately, our experience at checkout was extremely disappointing and completely changed my impression of the hotel. We were told that a late checkout was complimentary until 1:00 PM, pending availability. We were also told that a half-day rate would apply if we needed to stay until 3:00 PM.On the day of our departure, we tried calling the front desk multiple times but couldn’t get anyone to answer. After several attempts, we finally received approval for a late checkout. At that time, we were specifically told that the half-day charge would apply if we stayed in the room past 1:00 PM.We called down and told them that we will be checking out prior to 1pm to avoid the charge. We ended up checking out around 12:45 PM—approximately 15 minutes before the stated cutoff. When we went to the front desk, we were told that the half-day charge had already been added to our room. I explained that we had been told the charge would apply after 1:00 PM and asked why we were being charged when we had already vacated the room before that time. The front desk employee told me she could not remove the charge and would need to speak with her manager. The manager then came down, and unfortunately, his behavior was the most disappointing part of the entire experience. He approached the situation with an extremely rude and confrontational demeanor and spoke to me as though I was somehow at fault. I was simply trying to understand why we had been charged for something we were specifically told would not be charged until after 1:00 PM.He eventually spoke with the front desk employee, who confirmed that she had indeed told us the charge would apply at 1:00 PM.At that point, I expected a simple acknowledgment that there had been a mistake and that the charge would be removed. Instead, the manager essentially ended the conversation by saying there was no further issue to discuss. There was no apology for the incorrect charge, no apology for the way I was spoken to, and no attempt to take responsibility for what was clearly a breakdown in communication. Two days later, the charge appeared on my credit card. What makes this especially frustrating is that this entire situation could have been resolved so easily. I will now be disputing the charge with my credit card company. It’s unfortunate because, based on the hotel itself, I would have otherwise had nothing but positive things to say. The property is beautiful!Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled by management left a very bad impression and is something I would expect much better from a hotel of this caliber.

Found it after researching for hours a reasonable hotel of good quality at a reasonable price. . Marriott across the street was 3 times. Loved our stay. And they didn’t overcharge or added unnecessary costs. Historic landmark and well preserved. Pros: location. Central and just near so much to do. Checkin was painless and allowed early checkin with a very nice upgrade. Staff was awesome. I would call it luxury and when we booked we expected a mediocre place. Room: most comfortable with a little walkway to enter and a dedicated space for working. Bed was sooo comfortable with lots of light and many windows. Best night sleep. Bathrobes and great amenities. AC- most perfect with individual control so you can cool it per your preference. Bathroom clean good size with all required toiletries. Parking- we parked nearby to save as DC is notorious for parking fees. At check n you can ask for water. Best to book directly as they can offer more flexibility and of course good for business to not pay a third party for booking.
