tripadvisorThe remodel of the orpheum, maintaining the historic details, but adding comfort, makes it the premier place in Wichita to see a performance. Well done Wichita!
MoreAlthough I had an amazing time at the concert I attended, when I signed up for tickets, I thought I selected front row seats based on the map selection on the ticket site. Instead, I was in row U. At first, I blamed myself with user error. However, when I got to the concert, every single person in my room had the exact same experience. We all thought we were in the front row and were not. This was a frustrating aspect even though I had a great time because the band was amazing. Also, as a positive, every person working was pleasant and made the experience enjoyable.
MoreWalking to this venue is unnerving. This city has let the homeless population take over. They are everywhere! The Theater thinks putting up some metal detectors is the solution. Yes, disarm your law abiding patrons, so they can walk unarmed, through the copious street urchins to get to the venue. By the way the adjacent parking lot has zero lighting. No thanks. Will not be back.
MoreI saw Cherish the Ladies at the Orpheum and they were fantastic. The venue though was disappointing. We were kept waiting in line an extra 20 minutes for no discernible reason. I have a mobility impairment and the extra standing was excruciating. I realize the venue is likely exempt from ADA considerations but an offer of a chair would have been nice. My main issue was the filth in the seating area. There was food and soda all over the floor. Does no one clean this place? It was disgusting. I was also seated in the wrong seat twice...finally the usher said “ sit where you want”. Ok, how about the seat I paid for? The place was crawling with volunteers and we were held up while they mingled and socialized. I guess no one had a broom.
MoreI love the Orpheum! I've been here a handful of times and I'm never disappointed. It's a beautiful place, the people are wonderful and not a bad seat in the house!
