tripadvisorGreat location. Rooms are outdated and do need a major renovation. My ceiling dripped condensation every night and soaked the carpet and the towel i put down. The shower handle is broken a spins and spins, maybe you get water at the correct temperature. Staff is super nice and efficient. Lets bring this hotel back the the grand dame it once was!
MoreWe stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had one of the worst experiences ever. The hotel hosted a rave somewhere in the hotel on the 2nd night of our stay and did not inform us. As such, we were kept awake by the noise until past 1 AM.We refused room service on the 2nd day but specifically asked for clean towels in person at the front desk. These were not delivered.
MoreTraveled here for business with my husband and it was horrible. Outdated rooms, terrible front desk experience during check in, food was cold, hair on my pillow case. Just gross.
MoreRoom didn’t have a tag where you can say do not disturb, shower was outdated. Ac worked good, decent size fridge. Wasn’t offered cookies at check in, and continued to ask on three different occasions but they weren’t ever ready, would’ve had to wait for at least 20 mins every time so we gave up. The entire hotel smelled of smoke, but our room was ok. The hotel has a shuttle that can take you anywhere within 4 miles until 11pm which is nice, but that wasn’t advertised well. Front desk staff was nice.
MoreRoom was dirty. When I stepped into shower, I saw two dirty washcloths hanging from the shower rod from the previous guests! Told front desk and they were very apologetic. Sent someone to clean the room right away (while I was gone). When I returned, food crumbs were on my bathroom floor that hadn't been there before! Housekeeping would never switch out dirty glasses for clean. Room had no hot water coming from sink, and not enough water pressure to rinse out a toothbrush. Tub floor did not have a non-slip surface, and I slipped several times trying to reach for the towel. The instructions for the shower do not actually match the fixture and shower pressure was low. Upon check in, I was given my breakfast coupons, which led me to believe my breakfast was covered! At no time did the front desk tell me there was a charge Had I known, I would have gone elsewhere. All food lukewarm at best. Eggs were awful...and that was the only main entre available Wednesday through Saturday! Sometimes the staff brought water to your table, sometimes they didn't. Sometimes there were tongs for the pastries, sometimes there weren't and everyone was reaching in with their hands. Made the mistake of buying the pasta dinner that was offered one evening. Again, all food was lukewarm. Printed menu listed dessert as part of the meal/price. We were all told that was a misprint and that there was no dessert. They then scrambled to pass out individual cookies. Another evening, I purchased a 'pizza pie' from the hotel restaurant. I have had MUCH better frozen pizza from Wal-mart. The fact that all food has to be walked the length of the building and through the lobby past the front desk in order to get to the restaurant was bizarre. My bed/pillows were very comfortable, but the bathroom issues and the shabby room with chunks of wood missing from the dresser and holes where drawer knobs were supposed to be, and the fact that I knew no one cleaned the room - made it quite unpleasant. At least the room was ridiculously dimly lit, which probably made it easier to hide the filth. As for my conference - it was in the main ballroom. The women's room was AWFUL! At least two of the toilets leaked, and maybe the sinks, too. The only stall door that fit and shut properly was the one with the first leaking toilet. By lunch time of Day 1,the trash can was overflowing (had not been emptied prior to conference. I know because I was in there around 7a.m. before conference started), and at least one stall didn't have toilet paper. Optimistically thought that issues would be resolved for Day 2. Nope. Back of all stalls had standing water on the floor at 7:15a.m., one roll of toilet paper had been installed after being dropped in water (it was still wet AND stained!), and trash can was almost full. At 7:15a.m. The entrance into the bathroom was filthy (look at the walls and baseboards), and the button you would push to open the door to make it handicapped accessible? Of COURSE that was broken and did not work! And yes, we had elderly women using walkers at our conference. The ballroom - does anyone ever look up at the lights? Dead bugs everywhere! One of the covers that goes on the wall to hide the hole where the room dividers are stored - that was missing. I also had a staff member try to convince me after lunch that the barely lukewarm coffee was actually hot. It was not even drinkable. And then the elevators....unbelievable. Only three, and some of those stopped working part way through the week. There were signs directing us to the service elevators, but I heard the hotel was fully booked during this time....hence why you could wait for close to a half hour for an elevator. If you have no way for that many people at a conference to get up and down to their rooms in a timely manner...you have no business hosting conferences or having that many guests at all. Website says self-parking is onsite for $25 a day, but I was charged $50 a day! So, I had to call to get that resolved...hopefully it will be. Overall, this place was a nightmare. The staff were very friendly, but wow....how is this a Hilton property?
