tripadvisorI love visiting these type of art spaces where there are so many artists in one location. The space has three floors of artist workspaces. From photography to paintings to sculpture there is so much to see in one location. Everything seemed very reasonably priced. And they even offer classes if you’re gonna be in town for any length of time.
MoreHot Shops was a pleasant surprise! We went on a Sunday, and there weren't too many artists working, but we could see a lot of their work. It's an old, interesting building to explore, and it was a fun way to spend a few hours.
MoreGreat way to spend a few hours in downtown Omaha seeing art being created, speaking with artists actively working in the Midwest, learning a bit about the various mediums utilized by the different artists and shop owners. Something unique that even your [older] kids would like before or after hitting the fantastic Omaha Zoo, a concert of baseball game in town.
MoreI was directed here by staff at the visitor center as I was searching for local art. I left with more than I could carry! I bought several unique gifts, as well as some souvenirs for myself! There is something for everyone (jewelry, pottery, paitings, glass, etc...). I only wish more of the artist studios would have been open. But then, I would have spent more money!
MoreHighly recommend signing up to learn about the process to make a glass paperweight. Vicky did a wonderful job teaching us about the process and assisting us in making our own. We got to pick the shape and the colors and participate in the process.
