Rachel was not only kind and efficient but she makes a mean dirty martini (Belvedere) with blue cheese stuffed olives. She's efficient and pleasant too. She made my experience at the Sazarac Bar lovely and wonderfully boozy. The ambience boasts beautifully decorated walls with people of color in the market place. There's also a vast bar with much to offer even the most discerning drink connoisseurs. It is definitely an experience to have when in New Orleans.

I came in for a drink and this was top of my list of beautiful places I wanted to see. Waited a while before even being acknowledged and then ordered my drink with a male bartender who seemed to be annoyed at having to make it. There were only two couples in the bar and me so he wasn’t getting slammed. There were two other employees behind the bar that were friendly and checked to see if I needed a new drink, etc. The Candy Cane was good but the bar tender that served made me was cause enough not to return.

It became our 'go to' bar in the Quarter. This is all the things an amazing bar experience should be----EXCEPT---why the heck does the music have to be so loud??? We're acquainted with the concept of increasing the music volume to 'encourage visitors' not to over stay their welcome. That dies not appear to be the intent here, it's such a cozy atmosphere. However, all over the bar, people are leaning in to each other to talk and hear someone sitting across the table. Everything else is done perfectly! We ran across it on a walk and we ended up here every evening and sometimes if we were having a later dinner, we would enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail here before or after the meal. excellent location, beautiful decor and superb service, try it!

We enjoyed some unique drinks and cocktails here - very convenient since we stayed at the hotel (Roosevelt) - and were able to see some cool decor, including a silver cup from the Ascot racetrack in the UK from the 1800s. If you order the Sazerac, get the one with brandy - it was excellent!

This is a very cool museum and shop! The self guided tour was free and you can spend as much time or as little time there as you want. There are some very interesting articles and they have a few free samples.
