Reviews
tripadvisorThe staff was helpful and the text messages really did make a huge difference.
MoreThe location was perfect as it was away from the commotion and noise from Bourbon street while still being near attractions and close enough to walk to the riverwalk easily. The atmosphere with the outdoor seating and lights made coming back at night a great time to settle down outside and enjoy the nighttime air. Rooms were clean and nice. I found the service great as the employees did a great job of giving me all the info I need as well as assisting in check in and out. I also thought that the hotel was pretty good value for what you get. All in all, I would recommend for anyone going solo or with partners.
MoreWe stayed at the Andrew Jackson Hotel on March 4, 2026 and first knew something was amiss as we walked up the stairs to our room, #205. Trash and dirt was visible on the steps and on the carpet in the upstairs hallway. Once in the room, we noticed that there was no mini-fridge as advertised on the website. The front desk attendant kindly got one for us from another room at our request. However, when we requested some coffee for the coffee maker, he explained that the hotel stopped ordering coffee pods for the coffee machines and that we could go down the street to a coffee house. Later we utilized the bathroom facilities in the room to find that the sink drained very poorly and quickly filed with water. Even more disturbing was the fact that the faucet on the shower was broken and was unable to supply hot water. The website also shows a lovely patio in the back of the hotel. However, half of the patio was cordoned off because of construction materials which seemed to have been sitting around unused for quite some time. The fountain had no water in it and wasn't working. The patio had not been swept or cleaned in days, possibly weeks, and random debris was scattered about. A broken down ice machine was cast off to the side (the property provides no ice either). We saw no housekeepers, maintenance workers, carpenters, nor any other workers on the property other than the front desk attendant the whole time we were there.Unfortunately we got the sense that the owners of this historic landmark have just stopped caring for it for quite some time. If you're looking for a dilapidated, run-down hotel which doesn't provide the services it claims on its website and can barely provide for housekeeping and plumbing, this is your place. If not, New Orleans provides for many other accommodations of better quality at a lower price.
MoreAbsolutely loved staying at this hotel! Stay in room 208 if you want a paranormal experience
