This modern art exhibit center, located in a renovated warehouse, is the heart of the New Orleans' art community. The Contemporary Arts Center offers a series of seasonally rotating exhibitions, classes, lectures, performances, screenings, and concerts every year. The exhibits waver between traditional and alternative art forms with works from both local and national artists. The center also serves gourmet coffees and specialty wines as well as a variety of pastries and sandwiches. A small bookstore completes the enriching experience.

Reviews
tripadvisorWe are not really modern art fans so this may not have been the best museum for us, but that is not the museum's fault. As far as modern art museums go it is well done with a plethora of works to view and enjoy. It modern art is your thing, well worth a visit.
MoreThe contemporary arts centre sits in the wearhouse district of New Orleans. It was formed back in 1976 and is a valuable part of the community. Worth a look.
MoreInteresting museum in Nola's warehouse district. The architecture of the building itself is art. It's a small museum with good art.
MoreThis Arts center is only two floors, with rotating exhibitions. The old warehouse itself is beautiful. The exhibitions we saw were wonderful and we spent a bit over an hour. You can see what is on exhibit before you enter, but worth a visit.
MoreThe building itself is interesting. The museum only spans 2 floors, so it's not very big. I think the exhibits change often, so it depends on your luck if you find something you can connect with. The museum shop was closed, which was disappointing.
