tripadvisorWe had a lovely walk through Algiers. The homes are quaint. We found an English pub for a beer and then a nice local restaurant for lunch where the locals eat. They told us great stories about the area. It’s an easy, inexpensive ferry ride over and worth spending a few hours.
MoreA short ferry ride over from terminal drive and your enjoying the quant neighborhoods, restaurants, taverns and the NOLA skyline. It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon.
MoreI'm sitting at the Crown and Anchor pub enjoying a real English cider! After visiting the Bargeboard antique shop and the Faubourgh fresh market. All within walking distance from the ferry. Quiet neighborhood compared to the busy big city across the river. Easy walk from the ferry, which is free with the LePass bus pass ( which, by the way, is one of the best unlimited bus passes I've ever seen - good job NOLA!). Well worth the ferry ride. It's the antipasto contrast to the busy French Quarter hearty pasta main course! Don't miss it!
MoreWhat's not to love? A charming community of mostly old NOLA double houses occupied by local families and interspersed with parks, schools, churches, and businesses. Stay in an AirBnb, meet your hosts and the neighbors, walk or bike the levy, ride the ferry over to enjoy everything NOLA has to offer and come back to a quiet, family oriented oasis. For some of NOLA's best food, try Barracuda's for tacos that give a new meaning to the word, the Appetite Repair Shop (if Pete decides to open up and cook!) , and the deli in the back of Faubourg Fresh Market where they make their own corned beef.
MoreCute quaint town. Took the ferry over and went right to the downtown cafe to eat and went to old point bar for a few drinks then walked the levee trail back to the ferry. Friendly people and Brickners boutique shop had cute homemade artisan things to purchase.
