tripadvisorAfter arriving in New Orleans, we were told to get in a taxi queue, handed a slip of paper showing a taxi number, and advised that the fare would be $36 to our hotel near the French Quarter. No hassle, no stress, just a lovely streamlined operation. Thank you, New Orleans. Every city should have set taxi fares from their airports. We travel frequently overseas and wish foreign destination cities would do likewise.
MoreThe journey was long but the 1st class service from driver Jashonae G. made everything ok. She helped me with my bags with a smile and was clearly happy at her work. Employees like this are gold. They take the stress out of people’s lives.
MoreThere is no more airport shuttle from the New Orleans airport. It's so difficult to research on the web as information is not updated in a timely manner
MoreThe shared shuttle from the airport to your hotel is fun. There are many vans and you never have to wait very long. You get to see all over town, other hotels on the way to yours. And it is fun to hear other travelers get excited to be in New Orleans. If you worry about making your flight home, just take the shuttle one-way to the hotel, then a taxi from hotel to airport.
MoreWe came out to the front of the hotel 30 minutes before the shuttle was supposed to pick us up and it never came. I then proceeded to calling them and they said that the driver claimed she stopped, when she didn’t. They then told us that there were no more shuttles that could pick us up. When I asked for a refund, they told me that they would have to check the GPS, in order to determine I was telling the truth. We had to pay $80 for an Uber to pick us up and take us to the airport. Avoid taking the airport shuttle, if possible! You may risk missing your flight and not getting picked up at all.
