Paying respect to men and women of the armed forces who died in war, this is a must-see attraction in Baton Rouge. Named after the Rear Admiral Isaac C. Kidd, this ship is a WWII Fletcher class destroyer. Apart from the vessel, you can even see a P-40 aircraft and over 40 models of various ships at the Veteran Museum. Roam the decks and interiors of the ships and know its history and the part it played in World War II.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️USS Kidd Veterans MuseumMy visit to the USS KIDD Veterans Museum in Baton Rouge was both moving and unforgettable. Touring this historic World War II destroyer offers a powerful glimpse into the lives and sacrifices of the brave men and women who served aboard her. Walking the decks, exploring the ship’s interior, and learning about its role in naval history brought the past vividly to life. The museum exhibits are thoughtfully curated, honoring veterans from all branches of service and preserving an important chapter of American military history. It’s a meaningful and educational experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Baton Rouge.#TravelWithRolando #AdventuresWithBella #USSKidd #BatonRouge #VeteransMemorial #MilitaryHistory

My 10 year old son really enjoyed climbing the ladders inside the ship, moving the guns, laying down in the cots, and seeing the toilets. Though the tour is self-guided, there is a well marked path and many informative signs to explain things. The information inside the building was interesting, esp the fact that it's not really related to Captain William Kidd, but they allowed many references to him on the ship.

Very well done museum. Great information about the ship and those who have served the country from the state of Louisiana. The ship was fun to tour. Tons of ladders to climb that are steep and narrow.

Typical Destroyer tour. This is a ship that saw significant action in WW2, as it was commissioned in 1943 and decommissioned in 1946. The tour is self-guided. You are given a pamphlet with, I believe, 39 places to see. A worker will show you where to start for point #1, and you follow the arrows from there. I will admit, that twice we got lost and could not find the next point. I don't know if I should blame my daughter and I, or the layout. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed seeing a WW2 warship still in its 1940's condition. The ship is actually not in the water, but dry-docked on land just off the Mississippi River. You can take some very nice pictures on the ship with the river and a bridge in the background. What really made this a must-stop visit, is the Veterans Museum where you purchase your tickets. It is extremely well done.Parking is limited, as there were only about 10 parallel parking spots in front of the museum, Luckily for us, there were two other vehicles parked. Perhaps there is more parking somewhere else, not sure as didn't need to ask.

Amazing visit to a real world war two battleship. Get ready to climb some ladder stairs and feel how cramped those ships could be. Great air conditioned museum next to it as well - huge! You can do them both for the entrance fee. Gift shop reasonably priced so I bought a large t-shirt for $14, a game if battleship for $10 and tiny kid binoculars for $8. I appreciated the affordability and friendly staff.
