The Portland Ballet provides formal training for dancers of any skill level. Our comprehensive curriculum begins with Creative Ballet classes (ages 3-6) and progresses through seven levels of Curriculum Ballet (ages 6-19). We also offer the region's only Men's Ballet program, aimed specifically at developing confidence and ability in young male dancers. In addition, adult students are encouraged to drop in for intermediate level Open Classes or to register for our beginning level adult series. TPB's entire teaching staff possesses high-level professional performance experience and brings that expertise to every class. Additionally, TPB's partnership with The George Balanchine Trust allows students the honor to perform Balanchine's master choreography. We help children develop as dancers, but also as people. By building self-confidence, maturity and self-discipline, TPB dancers learn to care for their bodies and face challenges with poise. Regardless of whether or not they have professional aspirations, each of our students gains a lifelong appreciation for the arts. For those who do wish to pursue dance careers, TPB provides first-rate pre-professional training. Many of our alumni have gone on to dance professionally with companies across the country.
