The River Market is the most popular locale in Little Rock, both for tourists and locals. With more than 17 merchants housed inside, you can buy fresh bread, pastries, flowers, coffee, and international groceries. There are several cafés located in the market where you can taste Japanese, Italian or local cuisines. Just outside the market, you will find even more interesting shops, bars, and restaurants. This is the place to come for the perfect souvenir on your trip to the city. Besides, this place is always buzzing with concerts, festivals, and other interesting activities.

tripadvisorMostly restaurants, not a whole bunch of shopping opportunities. A nice area to walk around on a beautiful sunny day!
MoreMost of Downtown Little Rock is so deserted it seems almost post-apocalyptic. River Market District is the only place here that I visited with any significant commerce. It’s only a few blocks long. Roughly half the storefronts are vacant, but there are about a dozen restaurants and bars. There’s a decrepit indoor market with a handful of unappealing restaurants and tchotchke merchants and a bike rental store that wasn’t even staffed during posted hours. The indoor market closes at 2. River Market District is a good place to find a meal, but nothing about it makes you want to linger here.
MoreMarket had 20+ local vendors. The food court had plenty of options. Easy access to the river walk. My family enjoyed it. We would visit again.
MoreIt was an okay place. Lots of shops. Some were not open at 11 am on a weekday. Nothing fancy. It was a hot day so that made our walk less bearable.
MoreMeh - very sparse. The whole thing can be seen in an hour or so. Seems to have been a thriving places at one time. Parts of it are good; parts of it are very run down. The coffee shop was good - the bluberry basil coffee was fabulous. Gus's chicken place is good. The indoor mall part is just a few food stalls - very rundown. We walked in, stayed about 2 minutes, and walked out. Most of the shops are foreign-owned with knock off merchandise. Lots of homeless wandering around the area. They didn't bother us, but it's kind of unsettling. The whole area is just a mix of rundown, unkept, dirty shops and newer, clean, kept places. It's weird. I don't know if the city is in the process of trying to revitalize that area or what. They can start with moving out the homeless. I glad I went, but doubt I'll go back.
