tripadvisorLocated in Lakewood about 20 mins outside of downtown Denver, the Sheraton is in a great location to the neighboring towns, including Golden and Red Rocks. There are numerous lunch spots within walking distance of the hotel. While traveling for business, I had time to visit Golden as well as the Red Rocks Amphitheater close by. An early check-in was appreciated although my room type was not available at that time. Complimentary parking was a plus, although busy late at night to find a spot. The lobby was large and inviting and the concierge lounge was right there on the first floor. It was stocked with snacks, drinks and apps in evening - breakfast in AM. Everything was nicely appointed there. The rooms were ok - a bit dated and small. The AC was extremely loud. The bed was clean and comfortable. Overall just the size of the rooms wasn't the best and the wear is starting to show a bit. None of the ice machines on floors 8-4 worked. Late night front desk was helpful and attentive. Good value for the money at the hotel though as well. Overall a pleasant stay.
MoreAt check in we were told about the breakfast served at six thirty in the morning. We went up to our room which was nice. My wife wanted ice. She called the front desk who told her the ice machines were broken but if she came down they would get her ice. While down there, she asked where the pool was. It was closed for repairs as well.In the morning we wanted to get on the road early as we had a long drive. We figured it would save time in the long run to eat breakfast at the hotel before leaving. We waited ten minutes for it to open at six thirty. When we went to walk in we were stopped and asked our names. We were told we were not on the list and told to go to the front desk where today they told us we didn't get the breakfast that just yesterday they told us we did get. We left very unhappy with our stay.
MoreHighly disappointed with my stay at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel. My room had several maintenance issues, including spiders in the shower, a leaking showerhead that dripped constantly, a burned-out light, and a non-working iron. These issues made it clear the room had not been properly maintained. To make matters worse, the hotel’s resolution was to offer loyalty points instead of a partial refund or discount for a room that was not fully functional. I expected much better from a Sheraton and hope the hotel improves both its room maintenance and customer service. I would definitely reconsider if you are planning to stay here.
MoreJust a question: when are renovations going to be done??? Are the restaurants open? I used to stay there a lot but have avoided for almost a year.
MoreI prepaid for this stay and was still hit with what appeared to be a duplicate charge on my credit card. I raised the issue with the hotel while I was still on property and was explicitly told the charge would not post. That was not true — the pre-authorization turned into a real charge anyway. If I had not closely monitored my credit card and followed up again, I would have been charged twice without authorization, even after bringing the issue to the hotel’s attention. The only “resolution” was reversing money that should never have been taken in the first place, paired with a weak apology and no attempt at service recovery.Beyond the billing issue, the overall condition and service were disappointing. When the lobby coffee ran out, I politely asked the breakfast server if I could get coffee from the restaurant and was met with a rude, dismissive response. The bed was old and worn, sinking noticeably toward the middle, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. Even the window in the room appeared to be held together with duct tape, which did not inspire confidence in the upkeep or quality of the property. What’s most concerning is that corporate appears to see this as acceptable, particularly since the reservation was made through a third party. Returning improperly taken funds is not customer service. Travelers booking prepaid stays should watch their statements carefully.
