Thunderbird Lodge is a hidden Gem. The manager is so nice and caring, comfort, cleanliness, and excellent customer service. The parking is well lit secure and the area is quiet and felt safe. The rooms a nice, clean plenty hot water, clean towels, soft toilet paper, coffee maker. and a Great Price !!! I would stay again anytime. I give it 5 Stars for one of the old great motor lodges.

Sadly, in spite of the friendly staff, that can't make up for what is a worn out motel that is possibly on its last leg. It's a shame. I don't know who I have to write 200 characters at a minimum when I was able to sum it up in 107 characters... brevity is a good thing!

The room was clean and the staff was awesome! My complaint is that there is no way to lock the room from inside that isn’t accessible to someone outside the room. I have never stayed somewhere without this safety feature. The rooms lock with traditional keys. There is a deadbolt but it can be unlocked with the room key from outside. There is nothing stopping someone from copying the room key and letting themselves back in at another time. Maybe I listen to too much true crime but all I could think about all night was someone breaking into the room and killing, rapping or robbing me. As a woman sleeping in a motel room alone this was unsettling. I will never stay here unless they make some security upgrades.

A no-frills older hotel(room had a tube TV), however, it was the cleanest room I've seen in a long time. It is apparent that management maintains the property well. Although items in the room were older, everything was in good condition. Excellent value and level of customer service for the price. I called the hotel to check availability, but did not get an answer. I shortly received a call back! Pros: CLEAN, good water pressure, soft toilet paper, Keurig in room, low price, friendly check-in(with local area recommendations), super easy checkout, decently comfortable beds, quiet area, good location for access to OU and the West Side of Norman, felt safeCons: Not fancy. Didn't expect such for the price point, so not really a con.

This is a perfectly good place to stay at a fair price, right off I35. The front desk clerk took extra covid precautions, meeting us in the parking lot checking us in outside. There is no breakfast provided.
