John Shaver, a master plumber, began his service business working from his home in the early 1960s. In 1968, the retail store "Shaver Plumbing and Heating" was opened. John, his wife Emily, and their son Gerald ran the store and worked as plumbers until Emily's passing in 1990. John followed Emily in passing in 1995. Gerald changed the name to "Shaver's" and expanded the scope of the business into tools and some great bargains. Christi and Billy inherited the store in 1999 after Gerald's unexpected death. Shaver Plumbing and Hardware, Inc. was incorporated in 2002. Christi manages the store, while Billy is occupied with his own business--Weld Rite, Inc. She has greatly increased the product lines.
