I don't really know where to start. The Buckingham Inn met every expectation and did not let us down. The room was exceptionally spacious, the bed comfortable, well-appointed without feeling stuffy, the bathroom was cool, the breakfast was excellent and the hosts charming. You get a parking space, can walk to many places, it sits in a beautiful neighborhood if you walk in the right direction, and at least in June, a quiet respite. It’s a block from the football stadium, which I suppose (depending on your preference) is a curse or a blessing when there is a football game. We are not Badgers, but enjoyed the UW memorabilia (including old yearbooks) that were placed in our room. There are excellent instructions as to how to use things in the room, so guesswork is eliminated. While we did not need it, the hosts have gone out of their way to make one of the three rooms accessible to those with mobility challenges. While we did not use it, there is a nice common area that can be used by guests. I will stop here as you should get the picture.

The hosts, Heidi and Tom made all guests very welcome and prepared a unique and delicious breakfast daily. The hosts provide great conversation should you desire it.The Buckingham Inn is a three decker built in the early 1900’s and has been restored beautifully with fastidious care to keep its period interior.Every detail of ones stay and possible eventualities is available on your room including complimentary wine upon check in and chocolates daily.In short, an excellent ‘old Fashioned’ bed and breakfast which contrasts with the hollowness of the Airbnb experience.Definitely a must revisit when in Madison WI !

My husband gifted me a trip back to my past at the Buckingham Inn! In 1975/76, I lived on the first floor of this beautiful home. What a wonderful experience! If I could give it 10 stars, it would be 10 stars! The attention to detail that Heidi and Tom have given the restoration of the building, could not have been better! We stayed in the varsity room, which includes an enclosed porch, a very large bathroom with a bubble tub and multi spray Kohler shower. Sleeping was extremely comfortable. The breakfast that was offered was divine! Thank you Heidi and Tom for your hospitality, and for creating an opportunity for me to go back to my past! We will be back!

Everything from parking to ease & security of check in & entering to room sizes to cleanliness to hospitality to breakfast exceeded expectations. Already planning dates to return in 2027.

Owners Heidi and Tom’s attentiveness permeated the whole wonderful stay we had at the Buckingham Inn. The room decor, attention to detail with just about anything we might need, and the wonderful creative homemade breakfast nicely put the finishing touches on a wonderful birthday celebration. Highly recommend a stay.
