As a member of the International Wizard of Oz Club I enjoy all things Oz. This ballet was not a new Wizard but instead is very loosely based on one of Baum’s later Oz books. You do need to read the synopsis before watching the ballet to understand the story. If this production returns to Tulsa again I will happily attend a performance again. Please see it if you get the opportunity.

We have gone to the Tulsa Ballet's production of the Nutcracker on and off throughout the decades. We have always delighted in the sets and the colorful costumes, as well as marveled at the talent of the dancers. So while the dancers still delight us, the drab costumes and dark scenery left us greatly disappointed. Sadly, this isn't a production to take children to anymore.

The theater has great seating, great sound and just an overall good vibe about it. It is a very good company that does a very good job at their craft. They should be very proud of themselves.

Tulsa ballet is a world class talented small ballet company. They are classically trained yet they also perform contemporary works that are full of feeling and movement. They are not to be missed. I am a ballet fan and Tulsa Ballet are in the top ten companies in the USA easily . The corps dancers are extremely strong as compared to most corps I have seen.

Tulsa ballet is a skilled and mega talented company that normally would be found in a larger city. The corps members are all so talented making this a very strong group. I have seen 3 shows a year and not only can they perform classical ballet, they are also strong with contemporary works and jazzy pieces. Studio K is their own studio and it is small and intimate if you want an up close experience. A real gem in Tulsa!
