Very interesting if you're interested in details related to the Kennedy assassination. Our guide was well informed and knowledgable. Reservations are required well in advance, and are only available on certain days (Tuesdays in our case). You will meet your guide at the Paine house, NOT at the museum address shown here. The Museum (operated by the City of Irving, Texas) will provide the address and time when they confirm your reservation.

Bought tickets at Irving Museum then met our guide later at the house for the tour. Our guide Kevin gave an outstanding tour. He answered all the questions we had. We had low expectations but learned a lot and we were glad we went.

What an emotional journey into the past. Kevin is a gifted historian/archivist nothing short of exceptional in his narration of the nine month period leading to the assassination. No detail has been spared in recreating the Paine house: despite its dark past, one can feel the comfort and nostalgia when there. The tour is a must for anyone exploring JFK history. Highly recommend.

Some context: Marina Oswald lived here with her friend Ruth Paine in the months prior to November 22, 1963. Oswald would visit on weekends, his his rifle in the garage, and slept here the night before the assassination (claiming he was there to pick up curtain rods for his rooming house in Oak Cliff.Afterward, the home belonged to several different owners until purchased by the city of Irving in 2013. The city has restored the home as closely as possible to its 1963 condition. Most of the items in the home did not originally belong to Ruth Paine, although there are a few authentic items. The city has done a remarkable job of paying attention to details in old photos to replicate what it looked like 60 years ago.My docent, Kevin, was a very knowledgeable man and comfortable to be around. He had a good, detailed answer for every question that I presented. He also allowed me to roam the house freely until I was ready to move along with the tour.I would highly recommend both this your and the Oswald Rooming House Tour in Oak Cliff. Being able to get up close to such a monumental moment in history is an incredible opportunity.

When I saw that the tour could last 90 minutes, I thought “no way.” But our tour lasted close to that and it felt like 15 minutes. Ken was an excellent docent and had an amazing knowledge of the history of the home, Ruth Paine, and the details surrounding the Kennedy assassination. We spent about the first 15-20 minutes talking outside and learning about how Ruth Paine met and befriended Marina Oswald. Then we went inside. The home has been amazingly restored to its 1956 appearance. The two bedrooms and the garage have videos of actors portraying Paine, her husband, Oswald and Marina and talking about events leading up to November 22 and beyond. The rooms are filled with 1950s period furniture and belongings. We were initially told to meet at the Irving Library, but then told to drive to the house, a short distance. If you want to use restrooms, go to the library first because I’m not sure the one bathroom at the home is for use by tour participants. Well worth a stop.
