The Bible is taught in an easy to understand manner. Friendly people, and welcoming! The men’s group are like family to me.

Calvary Chapel Plano has been my family's home church for over 14 years. We love it so much that we drive 45+ minutes each way every Sunday. There is no better church around that will take the word of God and teach it verse by verse. And then go into detail and depth of the verse being taught to give us better understanding. There are also a lot of ministries that you can get involved in, like the men's ministry, women's ministry, couple's ministry, youth ministry, book clubs, movie nights, hallelujah night, and so much more! There is truly something for everyone! And the people there, from the moment we walked through the front door, were so welcoming and poured out so much love on us that we instantly felt right at home.

Not a spiritually healthy place to attend or serve. Please be warned. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a small church that needs people's help and really wants to grow big. Plano has churches nearby that are very sound, pleasant, nurturing, healthy, safe and biblical. But there are reasons why some churches stay small with an abnormal turn-over rate long-term..and those specific reasons are hard to hide long. A church needs a leader, elders and a board who wisely guards a biblical mission and local church vision so to speak ..encouraging equippers that empower (if you will) the believers to accomplish it and then pretty much gets out of their way (I don't mean with zero accountability). Think about it. Attendees in Texas don't constantly need a church governance team that micromanages. My wife and three boys went to and served here in Plano for about four years when the current Senior Pastor also worked here full time (we know Eric well) and we sadly cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. We have attended and ministered at other Calvary Chapels across the nation including the first one in Costa Mesa California and several of these churches (even among the small Calvary Chapel congregations like this one..) were and still are wonderful places with excellent leadership and thorough teaching (Everything rises and falls on leadership). Again, most Calvary Chapels are still effective today, very warm-hearted places that consistently glorify the Lord and protect people. We unfortunately did not experience that same quality of ministry here, and it's not just due to that lack of proper training at the Plano location. We wish them well wanting to see a change for the people's sake. We have met some kind people and heard some very good things verbally passed along from the late Chuck Smith Sr. (the church movement's founder) at this Calvary Chapel from time to time, like people typically do at other ones, but an occasional echo from yesteryear (from the right ideas backed by the Book) minus real loyalty.. simply isn't enough to meet the needs of hungry Dallas area families. @kurtwVs

Cliquish, during a search for a new home, this didn't work out. Hard to find a good thing to say because of the way our children and we were treated upon our visit.... like we were these monsters and outsiders. May your visit be blessed and better!

So we are visiting from out of state and have been attending for 4 weeks so far. The people are friendly, location is easy to find, plenty of parking. The sermons are bible based and down to earth, with a casual atmosphere. The pastor has a very pleasant delivery style and is quite funny. Tons of stories to help explain the teaching but the word is still the primary focus. This church feels like home ....
