tripadvisorThe Irving Arts Center truly has something for everyone. On over 10 acres, the center boasts two performance halls (where every seat is a good one), meeting rooms, a sculpture garden, a main art gallery and multiple display areas for painting, sculpture and special exhibits including book illustrations, photography, Peruvian gold and much more. The center is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, making it possible to secure notable exhibitions from local, regional and national artists and institutions. The center offers activities for all ages and engages with the community at large. This year, we have already seen the fabulous Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, The Mainstage production of Intimate Apparel, and several art exhibits. The staff is always friendly and helpful and we look forward to returning.
MoreThe Irving Arts Center treats people based on their race. We hosted the 3rd Annual Miss Nigeria International Pageant on November 6th at the Irving Arts Center in Texas and it was a terrible mistake!!! They monitored everything we did closely including what vendors sold or exhibited at the event. They also demanded a percentage of the sales made by our vendors after they had already charged us commercial rates. The lighting was terrible for the outrageous prices they charged. Some of the so-called stage staff were nowhere to be found when we needed them. They also wanted to shut down our event when we were just one hour short of finishing because we started late. The staff were very hostile, and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone of African descent. They will do everything to overcharge and frustrate you. It’s a terrible culture of keeping Africans out of the venue. Ironically, the Mayor of IRVING is a wonderful man, and I am priviledged to have met him. He has no idea of this wicked culture that they practice at this Events Center. All in all, I am glad for the experience but there will never be a NEXT TIME
MoreWe stopped here to see the sculpture garden. While it was small and did not have many pieces, it is very well done. Worth a stop. A nice use of water and reflections.
MoreRecent performance of the the Mikado was very good considering it was students. It was a lot of fun. We’re fans of Gilbert & Sullivan, but most people in the US are not familiar with their works.
MoreGo inside to view the beautiful art exhibits while waiting for your concern or play to begin. Wander outside to see the fountains and beautiful sculpture works on the grounds. Many programs for both adults and children, also for talented and not so talented. Beautiful facility with lots of parking.
