tripadvisorA great place to visit for visitors of all ages but particularly younger folks. Great variety of eateries and bars but more importantly shops, murals and people. We went during the day and visited bookshops, vintage stores and Gus's fried chicken. Loads to see and do for 2-3 hours close to city. Only downside during our visit was extensive roadworks.
MoreDeep Ellum is a really cool part of town with so much history. Back in the 90’s it was the place to be for shows, bars, tattoos and hanging out. It’s changed a lot and has its ups and downs over the years. There’s many good places to eat and still many bars. Crime can be an issue at night and you should be aware of what’s going on around you, as you should in any big city area. I’ll always love Deep Ellum.
MoreI enjoyed seeing this statue but unless you’re walking in the heat it’s literally just something to drive by and take a quick snap of
MoreA friend suggested that we check out this hip place called Deep Ellum. Cool name, I know. We dove a few blocks and noticed all of the various restaurants bars and art galleries. We decided to find a restaurant to eat at once we found parking, which was a beast. We walked back into our surprise. The restaurant was no longer excepting customers. Apparently they were way behind in schedule and we’re not letting any more customers in to dine so we found another restaurant around the block and had a yummy meal there. We went to a restaurant whose theme was devils. We were seated right away and ordered two main entrées that were pretty good. It was a very nice ambience its funky, music, eclectic people and art. We had a great time and we can’t wait to visit Deep Ellum again. The parking was atrocious and it was a Sunday night. It took us over 30 minutes to look for parking but we did eventually find it and Parking was only like a dollar an hour or something ridiculous like that.
MoreAfter eating at Twisted Root Burger in Deep Ellum, I walked around the area for a bit to explore. However, based on how I was feeling, it was too cold and windy and not a lot going on in late October, so I requested an Uber to go back to the hotel.
