tripadvisorWorth a stop to see if you can spot any Beluga whales of if you’re lucky, a bore tide.Surfers can surf the bore tide 40 miles (according to our guide) and we saw one person doing this. Also saw a couple of whales
MoreThis is a beautiful look out area. We did see Belugas a little further down from this stopping point.
MoreThis is a spot dependent on weather but it's an absolutely beautiful locale just off the highway to stop and take in the majesty of Alaska
MoreThey say it’s the best place to see belugas. Well, I didn’t see any :(.However, it’s a great spot to stop and take a break. You can climb the rocks, go for a short walk, or simply enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains and Turnagain Arm.Beware! Don’t walk on the mudflats when the tide is out — there are stories of people getting stuck and drowning when the water came back in.Watch out when crossing the railway — a train might actually come by (twice a day!) :)
MoreBeluga Point is one of the first viewing points of significance located on the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet south of Anchorage on the Seaward Highway. It is a popular viewing point for wild life although there was none when visited. Further along the highway near the Portage Valley the scenery becomes more interesting.
