tripadvisorLove to browse at Greggton Antique Mall. They have several on of a kind antiques and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I have found numerous items to use when I give Historical Presentations.
MoreDurin our trips we like to visit antique shops. This is one to return to. A great staff and a lot of antiques not junk. Prices are reasonable and all the vendors contribute to the collection in a positive way. This stop was a real pleasure.
MoreThe Greggton Antique Mall is located in an older building along Marshall Avenue on the west side of Longview. Marshall Avenue is also historic US 80, which was the main highway between Shreveport and Dallas before I - 20 was built. Many old businesses line Marshall Avenue for about 5 miles as it passes through Longview. This part of Longview is known as Greggton, hence the name for the mall. The building is a few blocks east of Loop 281, on the south side of Marshall Avenue. There are just a few parking spaces in front of the building. With all that being said, this is an interesting antique store. The ladies in front are friendly, and they encouraged me to wander around and look at what was being offered for sale. It's a bit like a maze inside, with several side rooms, all packed with items. In the back, in the southeast side of the building, is a military museum of sorts. Various memorabilia provided by US military veterans and their families are on display. Uniforms, weapons, photos, books, etc., can be seen. Some items in that area are for sale, but not all. I found the Memoirs of President Truman for sale for only $5, which I thought was a bargain. The Greggton Antique Mall is worth a visit, just to see the many antiques that are being offered for sale, but also to tour the military section in back. If you are visiting Longview, I also recommend stopping at Teague Park, on the east side of the city, and seeing the new memorials to US military veterans that have been erected there. Teague Park is just about a block or two south of East Marshall Avenue, about 4 miles east of the Greggton Antique Mall.
MoreI drove about 45 minutes to get to this Antique Mall. I only stayed about 5 minutes. After traveling we needed to visit the restroom. BIG sign on door says NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. I don't spend my money in any business that makes me go elsewhere to go to the restroom. I leave and I don't go back. Would have given it no stars but that wasn't an option. Will never return.
MoreSo much cool stuff to look at. Thankfully they had a war/army history section that got my husband off my back (he spent 20 or 30 minutes back there) so I could browse in peace. The inventory is so well-curated and sorted and displayed. Only saw owner when she came in and confirmed the cool metal shelf I wanted really was for sale and only $12. The two lady staffers were personable, helpful and chatty but graciously did not dog my steps; one looked for and found an item I had earlier seen and wanted but then couldn't remember where. The owner had another place just down from this one that the ladies encouraged me to go check out but I'd stretched hubby's patience long enough and we needed to get on the road back to Louisiana. Really recommend this place. They have a lot of eras represented and fairly priced.
