This is a beautiful little lake with lots of turtles. We saw lots of camping options like tent camping, RV & cabins. There's a trail that pretty much circles the lake. We went for the fall colors & weren't disappointed. The water is very clear allowing you to see the bottom pretty far from the bank. There's a dedicated area for swimming with a floating platform about 30 ft from the bank. Overall, it's a nice place for a getaway.

Camped 3 days in one of the shelters with a friend. Shelters are being maintained so despite the storms that moved through, we felt safe and stayed dry and enjoyed our stay. Loved exploring the trails with our group as well and paths were not too overgrown however did have to detour one section as a family of wasps were also trying to move in. We took advantage of their kayaks to spend some peaceful time on the lake. Music from adjacent units kept to minimum as to not disturb our enjoyment of nature.

A very popular Texas State Park, about 20 minutes north of the city of Tyler. A 64-arce lake is the centerpiece of the park. There are 10 camping areas ranging from RV campsites, tent sites, cabins, and screened shelters. This park has an amphitheater, swimming area, playground, picnic area, group dining hall, boat ramp, lighted fishing pier, and park store where you can rent kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats. Over 13 miles of trails to enjoy nature and the wildlife. A very nice state park.
