Housing a stunning array of wild animals, including numerous exotic and endangered species from Africa to South America, Caldwell Zoo is an excellent place to explore wildlife from around the world. Besides animals, the zoo also houses a very popular African Aquarium, a North American Herpetarium as well as the Wild Bird Walkabout. The beautifully landscaped parks, with its spacious and lush enclosures offer a pleasant setting for visitors as well as the animals. Kids can have a whale of a time, petting animals in the designated area or letting loose in the play area. The zoo offers numerous educational programs as well.

tripadvisorWe visited the zoo while in Tyler. It was just big enough without being overwhelming. The animals were very well taken care of. My 15-year-old nephew really loves animals and enjoyed reading about all of the animals. It was a great visit.
MoreWhat a wonderful zoo. The animals seemed happy and well taken care of. The walking paths are wide to it's easy to get around. There are some mild hills, but there are benches if you get tired.
MoreI spent a wonderful day at Caldwell Zoo with my grandson, and it was the perfect experience for little ones! The zoo is just the right size—not overwhelming, but with plenty to see and do. We especially loved the amphibian exhibit, the safari area, and the incredible variety of birds. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the animals seemed well cared for. It’s a great place to create special memories with family. Highly recommend for a fun and educational outing!
