tripadvisorStayed at this hotel in the fall bc it was a bit cheaper than the Medina hotel I usually stay. Never again. It had a strange smell. All the public area tvs were set to Fox News. My room tv (and I’m guessing they were all like this) turned on straight to Fox News. The exercise room tv was set to Fox News and no remote available to change the channel. Only plus side was the staff were nice.
MoreDO NOT STAY AT THIS NASTY HOTEL. - LENGTHY!On Monday, November 17th, 2025, my spouse, child, and I stayed at THIS hotel because I had business to take care of. We arrived around 6:43 PM on Monday night and did not leave until 10:57 AM the next morning, Tuesday. As Tuesday went by, my spouse and I noticed several bumps on our bodies that were red, large, and itchy. I then examined my 12-week-old son and found small bites on his shoulder and head as well. I contacted corporate multiple times after the incident (Wednesday morning, the 19th). The first time I called, at 8:07 AM, a claim was created, and I was told that I would receive a call from both the general manager and someone from corporate. I never received any confirmation, so I followed up again at 4:06 PM, but the call was disconnected. I called a third time at 4:19 PM and spoke to guest assistance, who received the photos we provided. The representative informed me that corporate was not responsible for personal injury claims and that I needed to contact the property directly.I then called the property to inform them of the issue and was told that the manager would call me back. I never received a call.I followed up with the property again on Friday, November 21st, at 8:05 AM. The manager was not on duty. However, another staff member informed me that nothing could be done because their own lab team had inspected the room and found no indication of insects—and that I needed to contact corporate. So where did these bites come from? My family and I had absolutely no issues before entering your establishment, and yet upon leaving, we were covered in bites from head to toe. Something is not adding up.At this point, I’m livid, because reading between the lines, the facility is essentially implying that we brought the insects with us, which is absolutely not the case. I called corporate again seeking compensation (I paid for the stay using both loyalty points and money). Guest assistance told me they had to contact the property manager for approval to even return my points. At 12:02 PM, I was informed that I would not be receiving any points back and that the matter was now closed entirely.I was also questioned about whether I was sure the bites came from the hotel. To be clear, we left our home on Monday and went straight to the hotel because I had business to attend to the next morning at my alma mater, a prominent high school in Akron, Ohio. Guest services even asked whether we had medical documentation. Why is that necessary if you claim there were no findings in the room? And even if I did provide documentation, what would that prove if you already told me multiple times that nothing was found?Again—how are WE the ones being inconvenienced here? Why does my infant child have bites on him? How do we all have bites all over our bodies when we had none before staying at your property? Why do WE have to leave our bags outside and worry about bringing insects into OUR home?Considering how much money I spend with Hilton for both personal and professional travel, you would expect better treatment and communication. I promise you, I will do everything in my power not to book with Hilton again and will take my business elsewhere.Long story short: DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to get eaten alive like a buffet.
MoreMy wife & I stayed here from 10-24-25 to 10-26-25 and had a good experience. The rooms were very clean and the hotel was updated and modern. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was good with several options. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.
MoreOur newly refurbished room was clean and in good condition in every respect, ditto the common area downstairs. The beds were fine, nothing to write home about but we slept well. We appreciated the plentiful power plugs throughout, and the night light in the bathroom. Room lighting was a bit harsh it did the job. Desk staff evening and morning were friendly and efficient. This is a basic hotel, strictly adequate in every respect; not sure it's entirely worth the room rate we paid (nearly $200 with taxes and fees), but that's the market.
MoreConvenient location and near a lot of restaurants and shopping. The room was recently remodeled - clean carpet, nice headboard, convenient bedside table with plug and USB. Love the walk-in shower and chair-height toilet in the bath. It is the safest, non-slip shower pan I have used for the past 2 weeks. Hot water came quickly in the shower and it had great water pressure. Nice desk space and plug/USB at desk height, but terrible lighting. The previous guest must have moved the pool light over by the desk, so that was helpful. The desk chair could not be adjusted. There is no surface for luggage. They do have a luggage rack in the closet, which works fine. However, it seems odd for a newly renovated hotel. There was no microwave and the refrigerator had no shelves. So, there was no way to store left overs or heat a meal if you wanted to work in the room. The staff were great. Ankith and Jawanda were friendly and a great help at the front desk. They made sure there was hot water and coffee downstairs, which was a treat as there were no microwaves. Heather was excellent at breakfast. She kept the breakfast area stocked and clean with a positive attitude. Breakfast was good. I liked the daily waffle flavors and the oatmeal was made perfect. I wish there were more blend-ins for the oatmeal. For instance, most of the hotels I was at prior to this stay had dried fruit, cinnamon, a few kinds of nuts, flaxseed, granola, a fruit compote. I enjoyed the pool during my stay as well. The remodel made most of the room a pleasure, but management needs to establish a better protocol for ensuring the rooms have been cleaned. Part of my bath was overlooked. The sink had not been cleaned and the counter had not been wiped well. The glass door of the shower had not been cleaned either. This is what you could see. I only hoped that the shower floor and walls had been sprayed down. Also, the A/C had trouble keeping the room cool. I do not know if it is because the wall control was gone or perhaps the filters need changed after the construction. I think they are working out some kinks from the remodel. The promise of a nice room is there, so I will revisit when I am back in the area and believe I will experience a 5 star stay.
