tripadvisorDoes Arlington still have a Visitors Center? We were given the location by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce & it dropped us beside the Choctaw Stadium. No signs & no sign of a Visitors Center. Went to where the former Visitor Center was & it looked empty. Maybe its in transition? We ended up going to the Grand Prairie Visitor & got some Arlington information we were looking for.
MoreWe needed a sense of direction so we stopped here to get some flyers, brochures, and maps of the town. Very helpful to get around the city of Arlington and the metro area.
MoreThe staff here was so friendly. They told my kids all about seeing the Barcelona soccer athletes downtown and even gave my kids little souvenir pins. Besides, it's a pretty old building to go in and poke around.
MoreMostly retired volunteer staff is dedicated, but many of the exhibits are out-dated and the location of the facility produces low traffic, so maybe the new TexasLive! venue being built will welcome a new partner? In days past, when brochures were the rage, this spot was relevant, but websites have made this place almost obsolete, as most folks in Arlington don't even know of its existence.Perhaps some interactive displays, visual kiosks, overhead drone views of facilities over predetermined paths that could be decided by the visitor, a gift shop, etc. could bring this place to life.
MoreI stopped by here and spoke with Michael and a lady, I think her name was Alice, to get some ideas for when my friends come and visit from “Across the Pond”. I left with a plethora of ideas, brochures etc. These two clearly are locals and have in-depth knowledge of how to both get around and what to see and do in the metroplex. I got a map, train guide ( Trinity Rail Express) which goes from Fort Worth to Union Station, walking distance then to Deeley Plaza, ideas on history, festivals, you name it they have it here. Well worth the visit.
