tripadvisorIt was a nice experience to walk around the cemetery although I would like to do it at night. I felt and caught the presence of different beings; some were shown but not many.
MoreIf you are into history and exploring cemeteries this would be a good one to explore. You must make prior arrangements to see the cemetery as its gates stay chained closed. This is not just a pop over there and look type location.
MoreWe found this cemetery just driving around Fort Worth, I googled it to find out more. The main entrance is always locked, I called the number on a sign posted out front. Theres a small gate that is always on the right side of the main gate. This cemetery has so much history, we walked around for an hour or so. If you're interested in Fort Worth history, I highly recommend visiting!
MoreThis out-of-the-way cemetery has numerous graves of the founders of Fort Worth. The cemetery also includes the first Anglo grave in the city, that of an infant birth to Major Ripley Arnold, the fort's founding officer. His grave is also there as well. There are hundreds of graves and it is definitely worth the visit, especially for those interested in Fort Worth's history. ***TIP*** VERY IMPORTANT...to access this cemetery you must find the gate (that does not look like it works) in the front toward the southern end of the fence facing the street. Also...there are a lot of sand burrs so wear good shoes.
