I love this park and so does my Cute JRT. We have had lots of fun times here! I’ve made the decision to not return sadly. Houston Parks Unfortunately are being targeted by Car Thieves Smash and Grab Robberies in particular.. I no longer feel safe, especially after being robbed and car window smashed in, hidden purse taken at Atascocita Park this past week. Thieves are monitoring you if you take a purse out or not! That’s not a good feeling. Especially women! Our current Government is responsible for causing all this huge spike in crime. Thieves have little or no no accountability and there are no cameras or surveillance to catch them. The Sheriffs are there occasionally, and do their best to protect you. But these thieves work when there are no police cars around. It’s very very sad and it’s been reported for some major changes in security for our community. I would like to thank The Sheriffs because I know they are busy trying to keep everyone safe.

This park is well kept and beautiful, There is wildlife, 5 peacocks, Great Herons, Egrets in all sizes along with a couple of raccoons we saw on a early morning ride along with Geese and Duck... all kinds of ducks at the pond. The crew keeps the part super clean. They have excellent walking trails and you can ride you bikes. They also now have bike rentals. We ride about 10 miles every chance we get and notice all the different changes the crew makes to keep this park so beautiful. It is a great place for a picnic, launch your boat (or just watch people launch their boats, ha!) and let your kids play as there are numerous playgrounds for them.

I participate in running races or triathlons here several times a year. The park is always clean, park staff are friendly. There are trails we run on in some races that are very pretty. Its a gorgeous are with big trees and its QUIET.

The park has a good design appearance. The children's playgrounds are covered with a tent, but not protected from rain. Asphalt needs to be repaired because path holes have been formed. There is a chance to play with your little ones for about 2-3 hours.

The Sea Scouts put on a sailing event for the Boy Scouts. We had about 40 Scouts and 18 boats. This was the first time we have held the event (Sail Daze) here at Deussen Park and will come back next year. While shade is good, We’ll probably rent the pavilion next time.
