Discovered this via the Ollie AI tool, we went there on a Sunday after landing at IAH as the funeral museum did not open until noon. What a hidden gem. Beautiful, well kept grounds. Even though it was off-season, the place was still well kept and lots of fauna. There are 2 locations for this park, the arboretum is more of a wild area with lots of exploration paths.

This Botanical Garden is a hidden gem in the Humble/Spring Texas area! It is basically free to get in all the time. You can park out in front and there are facilities throughout the gardens as needed. We go there often just to walk and get some steps in. Most of the time you do not even need to spray for mosquitos, although in the woods area there are some. The pictures I am uploading are a hint at just how worthwhile it is to visit.

Our visit to Mercer Botanic Gardens was late in February on a sunny, mild day and just what we needed after flying in to Houston from wintery weather in our home state of MN. We had an extra couple hours between landing and needing to be in Galveston. I looked for something near IAH and Mercer was the perfect opportunity to get out into nature. We stretched our legs and explored the gardens. Mercer was lovely, obviously loved & cared for, peaceful despite being so close to the airport, and free!
