I do not recommend this hotel. While trying to check in they had a computer problem and would not let anyone into their room. We waited several hours with no compensation for the extreme inconvenience. The manager was no where to be found and left the staff completely on their own. When checking out I asked to be contacted by the manager. A few days later I emailed and the follow day I called. No response. I absolutely understand a computer system failure but their inability to check people in or out using a backup method is ridiculous further exasperated by the fact that management was non-response.

Location - in midtown area , a 10 min drive to airport or downtown, quick access to freeway going north or south The rooms - average , clean enough . Nothing special . Hotel seemed old , but to be fair , everything was working .Breakfast - average . Very crowded in breakfast area on most mornings The staff - when I arrived at 1 am , the check in staff was quick and efficient and pleasant . But the morning staff was not as nice - lack of smile , lack of desire to help is how I would describe the morning staff . When I asked for the room to be cleaned , I was made to feel like I was bothering her . When I asked for a late check out (commonly granted to diamond members) , it was a very blunt NO . I know it is high season in Alaska , I know the hotel was busy , but the morning staff needs a crash course in customer service .

I generally like Hampton Inns because they are reliable and moderately priced. I chose this hotel because they offered free shuttle service to the airport and other transportation hubs. We stayed here three different nights over 2 weeks. The rooms were good, but we noted that the two rooms on the first floor had been modernized and the one room we had on the second floor had not. It was still OK, but just not quite as nice and fresh. The reason for the lower rating is because getting a shuttle was quite difficult. Upon our first arrival in Alaska it took multiple phone calls over about 15 minutes just to get someone to answer the phone. They say the shuttle is at the airport about every 15-20 minutes, but it is more like 30+ minutes once you call to request it. They have only two vans to service 3 hotels, and there seemed to be not enough staff at the check in desk as they were juggling shuttle schedules and checking people in. The next two times we arrived in Anchorage we had similar difficulty getting through to the hotel to request a shuttle. The final time we came in on a bus that dropped us off at the Dena'ina center but made us walk several blocks with all of our luggage to the Egan Center to be picked up. Ironically, we drove past the Dena'ina center after being picked up at the Egan Center. The hotel itself was nice, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast adequate, but service is a problem here.

Great Location, Free Shuttle & Outstanding Service Convenient Location & Easy Transit:The Route 25 public bus stop is just a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel entrance. Additionally, the hotel's shuttle service to the airport and downtown is incredibly prompt with very short wait times. 24/7 Lobby Perks:The lobby features a 24-hour beverage station stocked with hot water, hot chocolate packets, and three different types of coffee. Exceptional Front Desk Staff:A huge shout-out to the two ladies (in their 30s/40s) at the front desk! Their service was incredibly warm, professional, and efficient. I was especially impressed that they honored my elite membership benefits, even though I had booked my stay through a third-party platform. During check-out, they were extremely responsible and made sure our airport shuttle was seamlessly arranged.I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

Nice clean place with breakfast and friendly staff. We moved from another hotel that was awful.
