The Industrial Safety Training Council, also known as ISTC, is a nonprofit training and education organization. It provides safety training and site-specific job safety orientation programs to contractors, as well as employees of more than 40 local refining and chemical plants. The council conducts various industrial fire and rescue training events. The Industrial Safety Training Council offers a range of courses on various topics, such as abandonment of facilities, installation of anodes, atmospheric corrosion, fundamentals of electricity, electrofusion, mechanical fittings and leak investigation. It also provides courses related to pipeline purging, reciprocating compressor units, valve maintenance, pipeline shutdown and startup planning, and installation of steel mains and services. The Industrial Safety Training Council is headquartered in Nederland, Texas.
