David Hausmann and John Porter's latest venture takes the humble toast and gives it all kinds of delicious avatars. Located in the old Buddy Baker building that has now been transformed into a cozy, warm space with the use of large windows, wood, and exposed bricks, the restaurant has a fully-stocked bar in the center and a few tables, with a brick wall separating the dining area from the kitchen. The bar serves a decent variety of draft beers, cocktails, wines, tea, and coffee, but what draws the crowd here is the marvelous creations made from black sesame milk bread. Both sweet and savory toast dishes are available, with options such as Egg Salad with Kimchi Pesto and Taco Pig Carnitas as well as plenty of delightful desserts made from fruits, cinnamon, ice cream and, of course, toast.
