I am an artist who applied to become a member of this gallery in August of 2025. My application included 3 images of my work and a $25 application fee. My application was accepted, and I was informed my work would move on to the Final Jury where it would be judged for inclusion into the gallery. My work was ultimately rejected, not on the merits of my art, but on failing to meet the technical criteria of the gallery for the DEPTH OF THE FRAMES as set forth in the gallery rules. When I pointed out to them that the gallery RULES were not included in the initial application but were only given to me AFTER my application had been accepted and my $25 application fee had been pocketed, I was accused of being unprofessional and of embarrassing myself by not knowing how to read and follow rules. Again, the gallery RULES were not included in the initial application and had I known what they were from the outset, I would have saved myself the trouble and $25 and never applied. $25 is $25. It may not be a lot to them, but it is a lot to me. I did ask for a refund of my money but was told that I knew there would be no refunds. I don't know what scam this place is running, but it doesn't appear to be on the up and up. I don't recommend anyone apply to become a member, and I would tell people who wanted to buy art from here to stay away.

This Gallery is a must when visiting San Antonio. The day I visited I was greeted at the door and felt like I was visiting old friends. The folks working that day explained that all the artists volunteer to work and run the gallery, what a way to have very knowing and caring salespeople. Very friendly and will give you all the time and space you need to browse. I bought a very nice mesquite bowl with turquoise inlay at a bargain price! Will be back to shop and visit the next time I visit San Antonio. Wonderful experience!!

Original artwork at bargain basement prices. The ladies working in the gallery on the day I was there explained the history of the coop, and graciously gave their time to me. I bought a lovely cut glass wind chime which they packaged exceptionally well for my flight home. If ever I'm back in San Antonio, I will gladly give my business to these artists. We happened to wander in while visiting La Villita. It is a fabulous little place with a great collection from several local artists. I found several pieces from two different artists. The artists also work the gallery. So, the artist of one of my pieces happened to be on site, working. It was a pleasure to talk to her in addition to enjoying the art. I’m so glad we went!

So many artists with a variety of mediums. Great prices and friendly artists working the store. We spent an hour discussing art with in-house artist. They will ship your purchases.
