This is a fantastic place to go hiking. It was an interesting place. When we went it was not busy. It would be wise to wear close toed shoes

We came to canyon lake for vacation before school starts. We went to both overlook park and Jacobs creek park and Jacobs creek was FAR superior. You can park right near the water and there are covered benches to sit at, including a few in the water which was a nice touch. The water of course is beautiful. There’s also a playground that my boys enjoy. It wasn’t crowded on this particular day which was nice - probably because it was a Monday. I don’t expect an outdoor lake access to have restrooms - guess it’s just me. We loved it and will absolutely go back!

This could be a beautiful place, but if you need to use a restroom, you’re going to have to jump in the lake. The permanent facilities are locked, and the porta potties are full to the top. Yes, its as disgusting as it sounds. And at $10 a car (they only accept cash) I have to wonder where the money goes. Certainly not on upkeep, guess it goes to the employees who appear to do nothing.

It is a decent park but it is always very crowded and hard to find a spot. It is $7 to get it and you have to have the exact amount as there is no gate attendant only a automatic machine.

First off we arrived early in AM to Jason Creek (Civilian side) and paid the park fee for all day. Midday I left to pick up some family members and come back while leaving half of my family there at Jasón creek. NO ONE told me I wouldn’t be able to enter again once I left even though I paid for whole day and had family set up there. Took 45 mins-hour to get back and they refused to let me back in to the park where my family, husband and kids were waiting for me. They didn’t even let me park my truck and walk to reach them because they would tow my truck according to staff. My husband wanted to come get me but they said if he left the park he wouldn’t be let back in either! All staff I dealt with were VERY VERY rude! Will never be coming back here again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place!
