our group has been going here since before the current owner took over in 2018. at first the owner seemed to care about the location but as the years went on things changed. we give the owner feedback on problems big or small and rarely are they now met with any concern for our feedback. bath room toilets leaking, toilets rocking as you sit on them. tea pots having mold in them in the kitchen. cleaning jobs between visits not as thorough as it used to be. trash left in cans from previous guests and baskets on the beds not full or not at all with towels. The retreat has a fantastic location and the space is large but just not updated or cared for.don't get me started on the backyard filled in pool area that is now covered by outdoor green lawn that does not fit the space and always blows off in Texas winds.

I arrived at the Moments Retreat Center and was very impressed with the facility. The rooms, bedding and bathrooms and main areas were extremely clean. I am very particular about visiting numerously used facilities due to my auto immune system and I must say that I was well pleased. The only suggestion I would make is that hangers are provided in the closet spaces. Although I travel with hangers, it would add a special touch to your facility. I was slightly disappointed though that there were several outlets that weren’t operable. There were some appliances in the kitchen that weren’t operable also.

It’s evident when you walk in the door that this center was established with a beautiful vision and purpose in its heyday. However, it soon became came clear that the vision has not been maintained and was lacking upkeep. The bedding and bedrooms were beautiful. However, many of the lights & fixtures did not work and/or were dated. The stove did not work the entire stay nor certain lights. The dishwasher is out dated and some of the furniture should properly be replaced. Overall, we had a peaceful stay, but those amenities would have made it top notch. I would recommend you try it, but make sure you do a walk through with the owner first.

Could have been a (5) five. Let’s start with the good: rooms nicely decorated. Bedding very comfortable with quality sheets. Bathroom beautiful. Spacious great room. Large crafting room with comfy desk chairs. Nice back yard. Spacious seating with two dining areas. Caution the front door outside area swamped with wasp nest, as well as the back patio has a few wasp nest. The patio furniture very molded with two chairs with torn seating. The great room ceiling fan very noisy to possibly to needing motor replaced. We did not use it to be safe and feared that it might collapse. Now the reason for the low rating. We arrived Thursday and purchased a great deal of food. We found out that neither of the stoves worked. We called Elijah and he responded, “the last group on Sunday told me that the stoves were not working.” Elijah did not inform me before our arrival that the stoves did not work. Later that evening, we discover that the bedroom with five beds, the outlets did not work. We frantic search for the GFI that we could not find. When we called Elijah responded, “This is the first time anyone has ever reported this issue. I was under the impression that they were working again you had indicated that the fan was working because you indicated that the fan had come on when the GFI was reset.” I request an electrician to come and check out the outlet. He reported that that wouldn’t happen, but he will come by and check it out. After he did not show the next day, I left a text requesting a follow up on the status. He reported that he was on his way out of town and that the electrician is scheduled for Monday. My stayed ended Sunday. Tip: Elijah responds to callas and texts. I never got the email with the door code. However, you might have to text repeatedly. Before you reserve make sure you ask if there are any malfunctions on the property. Two window screens were torn, so if you can do a walk thru that would be great. We were from another state. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Moments Retreat Center. You decide and I hope the tipsare helpful.

We spent a long weekend at Moments Retreat for my birthday recently. We had a great time scrapbooking, doing genealogy, eating, drinking wine and talking. Moments was clean, easy to get to, beautifully decorated with comfortable beds! The kitchen was well-appointed with nearly everything we needed to cook our meals. Michelle, the therapist, was wonderful; everyone enjoyed their massages or facials. If given the chance, we would go again!
