This is a wonderful size of nature in an amazingly beautiful setting. You can walk straight in on the main trail and have an easy time of it. Or you can take it down to the waterfall for a little bit more excitement. We came back on the Ranger trail which is named after the wrecked Ford ranger that can be seen on the trail. All trails calls and a moderate trail but it was challenging for me and not perfectly blazed but we made it back. This is an absolute must visit

Nice trails, easy to follow, leads to some awesome views, take one of the alternate trails for more challenging hikes if that's your thing.

I take groups on several of their trails and there is something for everybody from easy to hard. The Land Trust does great work in the area preserving land and building trails for all to use.

The wind was whipping up the hill to the top, where we were sitting on a bench in the trail. Beautiful flowering trees and shady trails made up for a little breeze, though. We were at a meeting in Asbury and saw the waterfall pics, so we decided to get out there and see what the trail looked like. It is rocky and hard to walk on. Definitely bring hiking boots for this trail! My granddaughter enjoyed 5he playground area at the entrance. We met several nice people, incuding some cute kids who sold cups of lemonade. They gave the income to the local animal rescue center,

I have hiked some of the Land Trust trails. The Rainbow Mountain trails, the Monte Sano trails, the Wade Mountain trails and the Green Mountain trails. First Monte Sano, the old railroad trail is rocky and will require good footwear. Hiked out Watts trail to Alms house trail. Alms house is a little steep near the end. Nice place to visit. Rainbow Mountain has a nice stream to hike out by but is a little steep as well. Green Mountain main feature is the cave (rock house really) and nearby waterfall. Short hike with a steep descent to cave. My favorite is Wade mountain, It has a more remote feel and some longer hikes. The map I had was hard to read and you can miss the turn to the Devils racetrack easily. I plan to go back and try a few more trails there. Most of the other Land Trust trails are very near homes and some feel like you are starting in someones front yard. But still this is a wonderful jewel for the Huntsville area. You wont be disappointed.
