Pros: Studio definitely has open artsy atmosphere. Nice location, walking distance to some great restaurants and the Overton Square parking garage. Cons (there are quite a few): Pricing, we paid $45 dollars for three children (7,8, and 2 years old) for 90 minutes. This sounds like a deal until you consider the following cons. Absolutely no guidance from the staff. In fact they did not interact with my children at all. So, I am chasing around my two year old nephew while I am trying to help my daughter and niece execute some of the crafts. I was expecting the staff to at least help the older children do some of the crafts at the tables. Nope. Also, I had to ask the staff to replenish art supplies at two of the craft tables so that they could actually make their craft. This was ridiculous because the place was a ghost town, maybe only 2-3 other children the entire time we were there. There is no reason they couldn't have kept the art supplies full. There were two employees there (college age) that were just chilling behind the counter. In conclusion, I paid $45 for what I could have done at home for $5.

We were visiting my family and they took us to The Art Project. My daughter , 9yrs old, painted 2 paintings and then we purchased a small canvas to make a collage together. (The other adults enjoyed a beer or two.) The had tons of paint and materials to cut up and use pieces of , anything you would need. It was fun and relaxing! Wish we had one of these in St. Petersburg. I would probably go every weekend!

We attended a birthday party here and were impressed! They offer several activities: painting, sand art, drawing on a chalk board, making things out of fabric. The staff members are nice but don't get in the way. There is space outside to eat treats, but you would want to make sure the weather is conducive. I did notice some sketchy-looking teenagers hanging around, so make sure you watch your little kids while outside.

Purchasing a membership to The Art Project has been one of my best investments. My boys love to go there anytime when we are in the neighborhood. It's great to just pop in and let them play for 30 minutes to an hour. And I'm going to let you in on my biggest secret, it's the best way to pass time with kids while waiting on a table at one of the great Overton Square restaurants. We love to eat in the area and the restaurants are so popular, there is often a wait. Not a problem for us. We just take the boys to The Art Project to have fun and be creative until our table is ready. We can have a pre-dinner drink and they aren't restless before we sit down to dinner. We LOVE this place!

My daughter went to a friend's 7th birthday party today here. Super cute place. The kids were able to do multiple art type projects- painting, chalk, etc. There was an instructed painting that the children did together to take home. Art with someone else cleaning up the mess. I'll take it! Plus, the kids had a great time!!
